Content-pictures
Kinnon found great Mabou pics on the Flickr site. Might be able to use for the DVD if we can.
Content and Timeline
Today Kinnon, Chris and I met to go over the timeline Kinnon wrote out. We thought about script, and audio and stillpic, and video content and Kinnon explained the significance fo certian clips and audio and timeline pieces.
Last night Chris renedered some video and pics. It took 28 hours to render 10 hours of material.
researched the issue but foundn othing definitive to change. File formats could be part of the problem, creating time issues.

Material
22 video clips, 48 photos, audio clips, textual material as jpeg. Technically we need to print the family tree, scan and save to jpeg. or print screen, and open in paint, and send to Chris.
We have a firewire card that will suit his computer and the external harddrive. We'll have to see if we can get the hard drive working so he can use it when he needs to transfer all of the files to the final product.
We learned about burning video as data files not as finished DVD video product.
Chris's computer was added to the wireless system so he could access on-line tools.
He and I reviewed the Danielle DVD.
Kinnon will need to go over and explain the timeline to him and help him pick out the pictures and video to go with it.
Chris suggested, in some places audio can go behind the video, for example when Elizabeth is talking about Brookside Hall, that audio can start off low at the beginning of the clip and finish off louder when she's done speaking.

Reading material, looking at the pictures, and videos, trying to match the storyboard and videos.
Dec 1, 2008
The video files on the DVD need to be changed to another format as Chris is not able to get the sound from the ones we gave him, and cannot edit them. We reviewed our originals to see what format they were in. We need to have burned the DVDs as 'data files' not DVDs. We opened WINTV and Power Director to try to convert the files but that didn' seem to be too quick a poject. Instead, we found, or it found us, a software to concert video calle "Prism Video Converter" and it worked like a charm. We transfered all of the video clips from mpeg to .mov and then Chris used them, rendered them when he added them to the time line and all seems well.
Phase 2 of DAB DVD Production
Dec 1, 2008, Chris MacIsaac came on board as technical person for the DAB DVD.
The archives project staff spent some of Monday and Tuesday retrieving files for the project. The latest still pciture folder, the videos needed to be transferred from the file format .mpeg into .mov. We found the program "Prism Video Converter" on the NCH site and away we went.
